Miss Heard Magazine

April 20, 2016 Holly Leber

Girl Strong

Lindsey Turnbull founded Miss Heard Magazine for a pretty simple reason. "I always thought girls were really cool," she said, "and they are way smarter than anyone gives them credit for."

After taking part in leadership programs in college, Turnbull wanted to create a space for girls to share their stories and feel a sense of community connection and empowerment. She works each semester with a core teen advisory board and accepts submissions from contributing writers (like our own Saranah Holmes).

"My giant, world-changing goal," said Lindsey, "is that by giving girls this platform... they will learn about girls from different backgrounds, and with different life experiences and will become more empathetic adults."
