Sitar Arts Center helps underprivileged children become more advanced in the areas of visual, performing, and digital arts. With several programs allowing youths and teens to grow and learn through an arts education, Sitar makes an impact on the lives of children while giving them a fun and safe environment to express their inner artist.

The program currently has more than 800 students, about 80 percent of whom come from lower-income housing. Providing children with the chance to pursue creative ventures inspires them to reach their full potential.

Sitar Arts Center programs allow students to explore, be creative, and express themselves while discovering their artistic strengths. They also learn important skills including critical thinking, public speaking and writing. The help of partnering organizations and volunteer artists from around the DC area has made it is possible for Sitar Arts Center to be the success they are today.

Founded on the belief that every child should have access to an arts education, Sitar Arts Center stays true to the mission by providing children with the resources to achieve goals and be more confident in their education.
